Mark was out rodatilling goat poop
into the garden soil when I got home from work that day. It wasn't ideal, but there was no stopping him. I insisted that he take a lunch break and we go to Subway for a sandwich. Unfortunately, little did I realize, Mark hates Subway. However, this is where my acting training came into play. I was always taught that in every moment of every scene each character has an objective and you have to fight to earn that objective. Mark was ready to pop his lid, but with one more push he followed me into the 'restaurant'. Almost immediately everything became clear. We weren't going to Subway to get sandwiches, but instead to get his family. His parents and brother drove all the way over to surprise him for his 30th birthday weekend. After lunch (from Safeway), coffee and present (a new laptop!)
we all headed back to the house...but the surprise didn't end there. Up rolled the Red Monster.
There was no denying it, Mark knew instantly who that truck belonged to: Josh and Lindsey were here! His besties and closest family all in one weekend! We all had a lot of fun just hanging out and spending time together.
*Lindsey, thank you for your help on the pictures!
