The Fretts

The Fretts Family Numero Dos came by for a visit.

Shawn
(Mark's Brother)
Jennifer
Payton
Chad
Uncle Eric

We all sat around, ate awesome food, and enjoyed each others company. Mark, John and Caleb took us on a float down the Spokane River. The water was a peaceful place to spend the afternoon. We also had the opportunity to spend time walking around River Front Park in down town Spokane. I never realized how big the park actually was and we got to see parts of the river I had not noticed before. I am really enjoying getting to know Spokane; it just gets better.
Once Chad warmed up to me he was constantly and suddenly challenging me to a wrestling match. He always won.

He enjoyed attacking Mark too.
Then the boys and I played horse-ride-to-the-end-of-the-hall-and-land-on-the-pile-of-dog-beds until I was dizzy, then they played without me.
Although the youngsters were playing hard, Shawn beat them to sleep.
The next morning, Payton drew me a cute picture
while Chad hid in the closet to do his business.
"Mommy go away, go away!"

The Garden Update

The Garden is growing bigger and bigger everyday. Two nights ago Mark made stuffed Zucchini. It was amazingly delicious.

We made spinach salads a few weeks ago and ate all of that up. Now it is time for green and red lettuce salads
With fried green tomatoes
and fire hot jalapeƱos
Last for now, I collected basil and made pesto for a pesto alfredo pasta
mmmm mm!

The Tracks

We try to take the boys down to the tracks daily, but it has to be done before it gets too hot. Mark leaves around 8:30 in the mornings and the boys are always sad to see him go without them. So I decided instead of distracting them with biscuits I could just load them up in my car and take them to the tracks. I figured it's a win-win-win. It wakes me up so I don't sleep my morning away, gives the boys something to be excited about and a great way to begin their day, and Mark can leave knowing they are taken care of and happy.

First they sniff out a few spots and mark their territory
Tubbs is waiting his turn.

Then, while Hanz explores and sniffs out every trail he can find
Tubbs finds a stick...or a log. Here comes Tubbs!
He comes full speed at you with these so the key word is "easy!"
When the game of running at Amber with a leathal log is over, he resorts to chewing. It is starting to get hot so it is time to go home. They jump right in and are just as excited about the ride as they are the destination.

The Day Off

When we both have the morning off, we like to make an outing our favorite place.
