Winter Visit to the West Coast

This time over to Aberdeen the dogs sat in the back seat of the cab with us. Hanz loves being in the truck and enjoyed sniffing all the different smells out the cracked window for 6 hours.  As soon as we stepped into Lori and Steve's house I forgot that it was winter at all. They had the fire going and I soon lost track of my coat. Although warm, it made many of us sleepy.  Friday the 23rd I had to fly back to Cheney for two days of work. On the way we stopped at my parent's for lunch. Mom made squash soup and chicken sandwiches.  Malea made cupcakes; although they were not for us, they were for her friends.  The Seattle airport was supposed to be packed that day, so we made sure to get there plenty early. As it turned out the longest line I waited in only took 5 minutes to get through.

Once I had put my hours in for the week at work, I headed back to Kent.  A House in the neighborhood puts on a huge light show so Mom, Dad, Malea, and I went to check it out.  Later we went for an extended get together at Grandpa Vince and Grandma Mary's.  Somehow we also fit in Sami's Bridal Shower, which included Pin the Mustache on Oscar.  Afterwards, Sami and I made Thank You Cards.  They were a lot of fun and turned out really cute!

Thanksgiving

It is Thanksgiving, which means that it is time for TURKEY!

...and guacamole, of course.

Mark was in charge of the turkey

Mark getting the bird ready to stuff

Butter, apples, onions, and the empty bowl held garlic...

...all goes inside the turkey for flavor

With the garlic under its skin it is time to spend all day in the oven

Ding! Mark and James manhandling the hot bird

Juicy and ready to eat

Yum!

The dogs played in the snow instead of eating turkey.

Hunting with Josh

Josh came over for the weekend in hopes of hunting down a deer or two with Mark this season. After two long 14 hour days in untouched terrain, they at least came home with a moose paddle and were instantly ready for bed.

Josh found it on the forest floor and the dogs wanted so badly to chew on it

Those lines are where the veins were. Moose shed their paddles annually to conserve nutrients.

This was taken about ten minutes after dinner.

Visiting the Fam for picture time

Matthew and me at Malea's volleyball game

This is the first sushi roll that Mom has ever made. That is a mango next to it. It was big.
We also made spring rolls with shrimp

it was all delicious!

Mom also makes fruit and veggie smoothies every morning. There are full with vitamins!

Here are the pictures I came for from Yuen Lui:
