Malea comes to visit!

It is summer and Malea has time off from school and sports so after Holly and Mark Walstad’s Washington reception turned out to be the perfect time for a visit. Malea drove back to Cheney with me Saturday night and flew back Wednesday afternoon. We made delicious salads, watched a lot of Glee, sewed a Malea doll and spent a day rafting.

Orem Parade and What Cat

After Holly and Mark's reception there was a parade in town. Alice, Jon, Tallia and I found a spot and plopped down a blanket on the sidewalk.

There were lots of families and kids enjoying the view up close.

Tallia and Jon were thinking ahead and brought plenty of snacks and a lot of agua to keep us cool in the heat.

Then, famous What Cat came out and did flips on top of the moving Cosmobile. So the cat's name is actually Cosmo, but Alice calls him What Cat because of a very funny chain of events that I can not quite remember, but if the What Cat story ever gets its own post I will be sure to provide a link here.

Although the parade was plenty fun, I think I enjoyed watching Alice watch the parade even more!

It's a Holly Jolly day

Once Holly Hooper, family of one is now Holly and Mark Walstad, family of two. It was a beautiful, hot and, for some reason, "emotional" day. Unfortunately I was particularly emotional at the most inconvenient time, my speech. What I wanted to say was for the short time that I have seen the two of them together it is obvious the peace they are able to bring into each others lives. Obviously they know how cool the other is and all they need to remember is to take care of each other and each will never be lacking. I love you guys both. So glad to finally have a brother!

Meet the Bryner Family

Alice Sage...

...from the land of books.

Gertie

She likes to move her food and eat it somewhere other than out of her bowl

And their parents Tallia
and Jon

It is wedding time for Holly and Mark and instead of coming down to Provo just for the weekend I will be here a whole week and will stay with the Bryner Family for much of that week.
