a Rototiller
A rototiller, which belonged to Mark's late grandfather, was passed on to him years ago. It had taken up a temporary residence at his parents and after the December visit, Mark knew it was time to bring it home.
Not only is it great for snow plowing
it really goes to town when EXPANDING a garden! The little part at the end there, that you can barely see, was our garden last year.
While tilling the ground Mark found it filled with clay and bricks which the rototiller simply tore into pebbles.
We have so much space now I don't know what all this harvest will bring!!

snow day
A snow day is a special day at the tracks. There is so much MORE fun to be had when all you can see is fresh snow just waiting for paw prints.

Turkey Days 2
EWU's football team won nationals this year, and while out celebrating with the rest of the town we ran into Travis [pictured below] and Lauren [no picture yet]. The first raft trip I went on was actually one Mark led for them the day after their wedding in July 2009.

After rekindling college years, it was decided that dinner was in order. We had a turkey so why not a turkey dinner with all the fixings.
Travis made gravy from scratch and Lauren followed her families secret recipe for corn bread stuffing. It was the BEST stuffing I had ever had. I couldn't get enough! James brought his famous mashed potatoes, lengthy process, and we were in charge of salad, cranberry sauce and the turkey, which was too big for the sink so it had to be thawed in the bathtub.

A Night Out
Because of generous gifts we were lucky enough to receive at the end of last month we were able to enjoy a night out on you! We had a great time at P.F. Changs enjoying a lively conversation over dinner and drinks (in my beautiful new green sweater, might I add).
Which, if you look closely and squint a little, you can see here
Mark doesn't usually talk on the phone, but often has a giant beard
Hanz was in charge of getting my suit case unpacked

...after Christmas
After a fun day at my grandparents Mark came by for a great dinner and off we went to Aberdeen where the days were long but the cookies kept coming. Mark had already been at his parents for over a week remodeling his parents' rec room. What once was a storage space is now a full fledged place to work and relax.
